The Basics of Climate Change

Climate Change - Going Beyond a Basic Understanding

The 38th Annual Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) Critical Review was written by Michael MacCracken.  An introduction to this review article was written by Sylvia Edgerton (Prospects for Future Climate Change and the Reasons for Early Action).  Both articles were published in the June 2008 issue of the Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association.  Dr. MacCracken presented his article, Prospects for Future Climate Change and the Reasons for Early Action, at the 2008 A&WMA's annual conference and exhibition.

Beyond the Basics - Reviewing the Scientific Research

Do you want to delve deeper into the scientific assessment of Climate Change?  Then the Climate Change 2007: Synthesis Report (AR4) from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the report for you.  The entire synthesis report is 52 pages in length, but there is also a 22 page summary for policymakers.  Both are available for free download at the IPCC website.  Explore further by downloading the comprehensive reports of the Working Groups (I, II, and III) which are also available at the IPCC website
