Tips

Tips:

  1. Summon is a great tool to use when you are first getting started on a topic.
  2. Trying to track down a citation from a reference list? Enter the title of the article in quotation marks and Summon will pull it right up if the University Libraries has it full-text.
  3. Summon is also available from the main library home page.

More about Summon Searching

What is Summon?

Summon is a discovery tool that allows you to search most everything the University Libraries owns or has access to through one simple search box. Results will include books (print and electronic), articles, theses/dissertations, video and more. We like to think of this as a Google search but for library materials only. The Summon search tool enables users to limit in the following ways:

  • Format (just books or articles, etc.)
  • Year
  • Scholarly, peer-reviewed
  • Full-text availability
  • Topic (subject)
  • Author
  • Location

Visit our Summon LibGuide for more information about this new search tool.
