The Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE) is a weekend-long celebration of independent comics, inspired by Chicago’s rich legacy as home to many of underground and alternative comics’ most talented artists– past, present and future.

Chicago Zine Fest is a celebration of small press and independent publishers, with an annual festival of workshops and the big expo day where 70+ zinesters sell and trade their zines. All CZF events are free and open to the public.

Detroit Zine Fest is an annual event where zine creators and enthusiasts can come together to network and support one another while spreading the zine community to a wider audience.

Genghis Con is Cleveland, Ohio’s much loved Small Press and Independent Comic Convention returns to bring together so many prolific practitioners of independent print media! Cartoonists, zinesters, printmakers, authors, illustrators, small press publishers, educators and advocates converge to exhibit their work, converse about their processes and celebrate the independent print community thriving throughout the greater rust-belt region and beyond!

Grand Rapids Zine Fest is organized to create and uphold a space that is not ruled by commercial interests or publishing giants.

MZF celebrates and promotes zine culture, DIY creative literary work, small press publishing, and other independent, self-created wonders in magazine-like format. Milwaukee Zine Fest is an annual celebration produced by The Bindery in partnership with Milwaukee Public Library.

Street Cat Zine Fest is an annual zine fest in Ohio that was founded in 2017. The goal of Street Cat Zine Fest is to celebrate and foster the zine making community. Street Cat Zine Fest offers the general public access to learn about the zine community and other forms of DIY culture.

Zinecinnati welcomes zinesters, alt comix creators, poets, self-publishers, and book/paper artists from all over (and beyond) the Cincinnati area. Zinecinnati is a place intended for these creators and artists to meet one another, experience one another's work, promote their work, and share ideas and stories. Zinecinnati does not promote censorship of any kind, however we do encourage a family-friendly event.
