POLS 4260: Law and Society: Home

Aims to disseminate scholarly work on parliaments and legislatures, their relations to other political institutions, their functions in the political system, and the activities of their members both within the institution and outside.

The Journal of Law and Courts (JLC) is the flagship journal of the Law & Courts Section of the American Political Science Association. JLC publishes articles tackling theoretical and empirical questions that strike a wide audience of scholars as important across legal and judicial issues relating to politics, process, policy, ethics, justice, and/or culture.

Covers political science and history featuring articles on Congress, the President, the interaction between the two institutions, and national policy-making.

International and interdisciplinary in scope, Law & Policy embraces varied research methodologies that interrogate law, governance, and public policy worldwide in order to advance the socio-legal policy field.

Examines the relationship between society and the legal process. Includes the cultural, economic, political, psychological, and social aspects of law and the legal system.

Devoted to the dissemination of empirical studies of the legal system.

Presents theoretical and empirical research on law and legal institutions, emphasizing the use of social science research techniques to obtain new information about the actual functioning of legal systems.
