Guides to Understanding and Researching the Legislative Process

The legislative process in the United States is very complex.  It begins when a bill is introduced in the Senate or House of Representatives and involves many steps and actions along the path toward becoming a law.   Many documents are produced during the legislative process; finding and studying these documents is the key to learning about the legislative history of a bill or law.
