Finding Books for Leisure Reading

So you want to read something that isn't a textbook. Great! Here are some options for finding something delightful to read without spending a penny.

  • Sign up for a public library card for instant access to ebooks (see below for links to Ohio libraries!)
  • Try SearchOhio for print books
  • There is a small selection of current fiction & nonfiction in the Jerome Library lobby
  •  Try the Curriculum Resource Center for YA (young adult) books
  • Download the Libby app for Android or iOS

Ebooks through Public Libraries

Libby App (use with your public library card)

Libby is an app used by all of the above public libraries to offer ebooks and audiobooks. You can search for, borrow, renew, and return eitems similarly to the way you would borrow print materials from a library building. But because the materials can't be late, you can't get fined!

Hoopla for ebooks, audiobooks, music, and video

Hoopla is a company that partners with public libraries to offer a Netflix-like experience. Borrow ebooks and audiobooks, and stream TV, movies, and music.
