Advertising Resources in the BPCL

What are press kits?

Simply put, press kits are typically packets of printed material (sometimes other media) used to advertise a product such as: a motion picture, a television program, an event, or a book.  They may contain press releases, photographs, biographical material, information about the product, list of credits (for motion pictures and television programs), and possibly the trailer for the motion picture or television program.  While, historically, press kits were mainly printed material, there have been many changes to their format since the beginning of the 21st century.  Many were distributed only in CD or DVD format and for the last several years, have been completely online in press-only platforms.

Our collection of motion picture and television program press kits cover primarily the 1970s through the early 2000s, with a few holdings on either side of those years.  The bulk of the collection is printed material, with a portion on CD or DVD.   They are cataloged in Library Search and can be found by searching by title or by call number - either moviepresskitsbox or tvpresskitsbox.
