Each year BGSU selects a book that is required reading for first-time, full-time students. Faculty incorporate the reading into their fall courses, and the book is discussed throughout the campus community. The common reading selected for Fall 2018 is Irresistible: The Rise of Addictive Technology and the Business of Keeping Us Hooked by Adam Alter (2017). This book was chosen to enhance discussion of BGSU’s 2018 theme: “It’s Complicated: Our Relationship with Technology.”
Special Common Reading Programming: In addition to reading and discussing the book, the campus community will be invited to a number of events that are being organized to support healthy debate of the issues presented in the book. Watch for details!
This LibGuide has been created for students, faculty, staff, and others who are reading and discussing BGSU’s 2018 common reading: Irresistible: The Rise of Addictive Technology and the Business of Keeping Us Hooked, by Adam Alter.
