Checking Out Books

To check out books, you'll need to bring your BG1 Card. If you forget your card, you can ask the Circulation Desk to hold on to your books for up to 24 hours until you return with it.

You can also check out a lot of things that aren't books, such as CDs and DVDs. Learn more!

Your Library Account

No need to create one! Your BG1 card works as your library card, and your BGSU email username and password will let you sign into your account online. Just follow the My Library Account link on the library homepage to test it out.

If your account isn't working, the Circulation Desk will sort it out for you. If you forget your password, the Technology Support Center can help you.

Accessing Databases

The library gives you free access to more than 250 research databases, making it a snap to search for scholarly sources for your research papers.

You can use almost all of them off-campus by accessing them through the library's homepage and entering your BGSU username and password.
