Femzines and the Rise of the Riot Grrrl

In the 1990s, there was growth in the number of fanzines were created by women. Some of them were connected to Riot Grrl, an underground feminist punk movement. Some focused on women and others did not. They provided a corrective to some of the misogyny in other fanzines (even ones that were about activism).
