What are course reserves?

Reserves are materials that are set aside for the use of students in a certain class, at the request of the instructor. They can be required or recommended reading.

Traditional Reserves include books and DVDs. Items are available for a limited check-out period, to allow all of the students in the class to have access to the material. Two hours is the normal checkout period, but certain items circulate for 24 hours or 3 days. These materials can be found at the main circulation desk at Jerome Library, at Firelands, or at the Curriculum Resource Center or Music Library on the 2nd or 3rd floors of Jerome Library. Search for traditional reserves here.

Electronic Reserves include items that are made available on a password-protected website. These are usually PDF files or links to online resaources including journal articles, book chapters, class notes, practice tests or websites. Search for electronic reserves here.
