Writing for CS
Finding Articles and more ...
Are you conducting your literature search by keyword (phrase/proximity), concept (subject/thesaurus), author (citation), or by another method?
Citation Searching
Some databases provide information on articles that cite other articles.
ACM Digital Library, Google Scholar, MathSciNet, Scopus, and the Web of Science are examples of databases that provide "Cited by" or "Times cited" links. Some databases will provide secondary access to this information, for example the Compendex database provides Scopus information, and the Summon search engine provides Web of Science information.
Being able to follow a citation allows you to make connections "forward in time" when you begin with a relevant but "older" article.
How many papers have cited the following article?
The above paper was cited by Wren (2004). How many papers cite Wren? How many of these articles can you access and actually view as full-text?
