Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition

Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition

Welcome!

Welcome to the BGSU Chicago Manual of Style LibGuide.

Here you'll find information about citing books, periodicals, newspapers, and electronic materials. Because a new edition has just been issued, some sources iin this LibGuide refer to the new 17th edition, while others refer to the older 16th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. There are additional types of sources that you might be interested in citing, and for those sources we recommend referring to the Chicago Manual of Style. For the most up to date information, you can also refer to the Chicago Manual of Style Online.

NOTE: The examples in this LibGuide are color coded to make it easier to compare similar elements in the examples. The footnotes, endnotes, and bibliographic entries in your paper should not be color-coded.
