Troubleshooting: OhioLINK Requesting

Can't log in? Can't access full text? Here are tips for solving common problems using library resources.

OhioLINK Requesting

Make sure you are following these steps when requesting books through OhioLINK to avoid login errors.

Step 1: Click the green "Request" button in the OhioLINK catalog.

OhioLINK requesting - click request button in OhioLINK

Step 2:

Choose "Bowling Green" from the dropdown menu to identify which institution you are affiliated with.

OhioLINK requesting: choose Bowling Green from menu

Step 3:

Log in. BGSU students, staff and faculty should put their BGSU username (without the @bgsu.edu) and password in the boxes on the left side and leave the right side blank. Courtesy card users should put their name and ID number on the right side and leave the left side blank.

All users should specify their pickup location - choose "Jerome" for Jerome Library.

OhioLINK requesting: log in on left side, leave right blank, specify pickup location

If you see an error message that says your ID number is invalid, it could just be from having typed in your password incorrectly. Try again.

Error message: your ID number is invalid

If you are very sure you are typing your password in correctly and are a current BGSU student, faculty or staff member, try the following:

  1. Log in to My Account and make sure your account is not expired. If it is, contact the Access Services desk for assistance (419-372-2051 / circdesk@bgsu.edu).
  2. Contact the Access Services desk (419-372-2051 / circdesk@bgsu.edu) to make sure your other account information is correct.
  3. Go to mybgsu and try changing your password. In very rare instances, some password character configurations do not work with our authentication system for the library.
  4. Contact Amy Fry at afry (at) bgsu.edu.
