How to Find a Horror Film at BPCL

To find DVDs at the Browne Popular Culture Library visit our web page at http://www.bgsu.edu/library/pcl.html and type in the name of the movie you would like to view in the search box.  This search box will connect you to the University Library search database, Summon.  Visit the LibGuide, Summon Help (http://libguides.bgsu.edu/content.php?pid=214704) to find out more about how to use Summon.

The search box will already have a refined search results for focusing on DVDs at the Popular Culture Library.  This is evident in the left hand corner of the screen under "refine your search."

If you do not know the name of the movie you are looking for, try typing in keywords such as: horror films, supernatural, vampires, monsters, zombies, and telekinesis.  By entering keywords you will be able to view a variety of films that may involve the specific horror genre you enjoy.  Horror films have many sub-genres that you can search.  If scary is not really your thing, but you would like to watch something "Halloween-ish" try searching for funny scary movies, or cult horror films, like Shaun of the Dead and Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Students may check out DVDs for 3 days, and DVDs must be returned to the 4th floor of the library by their due date to avoid a fine.

Keep in mind that there are many different types of horror films and if you are not able to find the exact film you are looking for we can always find something similar for you.  Come visit with us on the 4th floor reference desk and we would be more than happy to help you find your kind of scary!
