To identify books, you can search the three main catalogs:
Indexes books, magazines and journals, videos, music, and electronic resources that are owned by BGSU. To search for books owned by the BGSU Libraries, click on the link above, select a tab (Keyword, Author, Title, etc.), enter your search term in the box, and click Submit to search the catalog. If you don't find the book you want, start a search in the OhioLINK Central Catalog by clicking on the Search OhioLINK button at the top of the catalog search results screen.
Indexes books, videos, music, electronic resources from college and university libraries, the State Library of Ohio, and some large public libraries in Ohio. Click on the OhioLINK Central Catalog link above, select a search type (Keywords, Author, etc.), enter your search terms in the box, and click Search Now to search the catalog. When you find the item you want to request, click on Request Item (located to the right of the title). Follow the prompts to fill in your information and select where the requested materials should be sent. If you choose to have the book(s) delivered to BGSU's Jerome Library, you will be notified via email when your book is available to be picked up at the Jerome Library Circulation Desk. This should take 2-4 business days. You can also have the book(s) delivered to any other OhioLINK library so you can pick them up at that library. After you're done with the book, you can return it to any OhioLINK library.
Identify materials at tens of thousands of academic, public, and special libraries internationally. You can request things not owned by BGSU or OhioLINK via interlibrary loan -- average delivery time is 17 days. To request materials from libraries outside OhioLINK, use your Illiad account.
If you're in Ohio, you can either go to another OhioLINK library or use Pick-Up Anywhere to borrow an OhioLINK or BGSU book.

If you're outside Ohio and are not affiliated with another university or organization that has a library, you will need to go to your local public library and ask to borrow books using their Interlibrary loan service. You will probably need to get a library card at that library in order to use this service.
Be aware that policies vary from library to library, so the services offered by the BGSU libraries may not be offered at your local public library.
