Secondary resources can be a great way to get started doing legal research. They can provide background information and offer a general discussion of legal topics. Though secondary sources do not have legal authority, they can point you to relevant primary sources, complete with citations.
Selected secondary resources are listed and linked below. Articles found in Law Reviews and Journals are also considered a secondary resources and can be a great starting point in legal research. Follow the tab above for tips on finding law review articles.
To locate secondary research sources in Nexis-Uni, click on Advanced Search, the Legal tab, and then select Law Reviews and Journals from the menu on the left. In addition to Law Reviews and Journals, you can select other secondary materials such as Treatises, Restatements, Jurisprudence, Practice Insights, and Emerging Issues Analysis.
Gale Legal Forms is an online database available through Toledo Public Library. If you are an Ohio Resident you can sign up for a Digital Card and gain immediate access to this resource from the TPL list of Research databases.
